The match between Kolkata and Lucknow will be played at the Eden Gardens Stadium.

The IPL league stage match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Lucknow Supergiants (LSG) has gone ahead. BCCI said on Friday that the match will now be played on 8 April instead of April 6.

In fact, Kolkata Police refused to give security on 6 April due to Ram Navami. Last year too, Kolkata’s match was shifted to the Eden Gardens due to Ram Navami.

2 matches will be played on 8 April April 8 is Tuesday, so now 2 matches will be played that day. The first match between Kolkata-Lucknow will be held at the Eden Gardens Stadium at 3.30 pm. At the same time, the match between Chennai Super Kings and Punjab Kings will be played in Mullanpur from 7.30 pm.

Lucknow Supergiants won a match in the 18th season, the team defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad on Thursday.

There will be only 1 match on 6 April Sunday is Sunday. 2 matches were to be played that day, but now there will be only one match. On this day, there will be a match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans from 7.30 pm. Whereas on April 5, on Saturday, only 2 matches will be played according to the previous schedule.

Guwahati shift was going to be the match Ram Navami is on 6 April. Kolkata police had said that the city will be very crowded that day, so the department will not be able to provide security in the stadium. The Bengal Cricket Association was planning to conduct this match in Guwahati on 6 April. However, the date of the match was now changed, while the ground eden gardens will remain.

Kolkata Knight Riders won their first match in the season on Wednesday. The team defeated Rajasthan.

CAB president had said- 65,000 viewers difficult to handle Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) president Snehashish Ganguly had told, we had 2 meetings with the police, but could not get the green signal for the match. Lack of security would make it difficult to handle the crowd of 65,000 spectators in the match. So the match will have to be shifted.

BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari had told that more than 20 thousand processions will come out in West Bengal on Ram Navami. Therefore, there will be a need to keep tight security in the entire state.

The final of the 18th season of IPL will also be played in Kolkata.

KKR’s match had moved forward last season also last season In KKR’s home match, the second consecutive season Ramnavami faced problems. Last year, the team’s match against Rajasthan Royals was to be held on the day of Ram Navami on 17 April. The police still refused to provide security, due to which the date of the match was extended.
