Surajkund sports traders gave this information in a special conversation with local-18.
Meerut ball increased demand since 1980
Surajkund sports trader Deepak Talwar says that only Meerut ball is used in every cricket tournament to be held in India. Among them, the highest demand is from SG company. In the year 1980, the BCCI and ICC had allowed Meerut to make the balls according to their rules, and since then the ball is made by this company as per the fixed rules of BCCI and ICC. Since then, the demand for Meerut balls in IPL and other tournaments has increased in the country and abroad.
This is how the ball is ready
Sports trader Onkar Tyagi says that the ball is prepared according to the over. It takes more than a week to prepare a ball. First, the leather is washed, then dried. After this, many types of colors are made in it and then the ball is cut according to the size. After cutting, the artisans stitch the ball. Then the ball is crumbled to shape, and it is filled with a ball and the final shape is given with the machine. The ball is then sent for sale.
Although nowadays other countries also make sports related goods, but due to quality, people around the world use Meerut balls and other sports materials.
