The check of four batsmen has been done so far in the middle match
New Delhi. The way fours and sixes are raining in IPL season 18, everyone can come in the mind of how many long and strong sixes are being hit. There is an important role of technology and timing, as well as that bat also has a big role when the ball falls out of the stand and the stand after traveling 110 meters after the bat.
Doubt about the bat is not new, but the path that the BCCI has adopted to find a solution is being seen for the first time this season. Earlier, before the start of the match, there was a check in the dressing room, but now the umpire can openly check the bat during the match at any time.
Bat check became four batsmen batsmen
On the last weekend, when Delhi Capital batsman Karun Nair beat Jasprit Bumrah, during the drinks, his bat was checked on the middle ground, everyone had a question in his mind why he was doing this with the umpire. Earlier, Shimron Hetmyer of Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Phil Salat and Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya were measured with bat gauge during the game on the field. The size of the bat of all these players was found to be correct. Now this question must be coming in your mind as to why such a middle ground is happening.
Bat used to change in beach innings
It is often seen that during 16 to 20 overs, the batsmen definitely change their bat because in the affair of big shots, people use the long handle and heavy bat from the bottom. Now the umpire does not know that the bat he has come to the dressing room is the same bat. To prevent batsmen from taking unfair advantage, they have started checking the size of the bat on the field itself. It is a popular trend to check the size of the bat, but till the last time this process was followed inside the dressing room. The Indian Cricket Board, however, has allowed match officials to investigate the bat in any way on the field to be more vigilant in this era of power-touching.
What is the rule about bat?
Before the start of the match, umpire keeps a tool ‘Bat Gauge’ to check the bat size. If the bat passes through that gauge, it is considered under the rules. The width of the bat face should not exceed 4.25 inches (10.79 cm). The thickness of the middle part (embossed part) cannot exceed 2.64 inches (6.7 cm). The maximum width of the edge cannot exceed 1.56 inches (four cm). The length of the bat cannot exceed 38 inches (96.4 cm) from the top to the base of the handle. This time sixes are raining in the IPL. A total of 525 sixes have been hit in the current session till the match between Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants on Monday. Of these, 31 sixes have been hit by West Indies batsman Nicholas Puran alone.
