New Delhi. Ayush Mhatre has been included in the team in place of injured captain Rituraj Gaikwad by Chennai Super Kings. Gaikwad was injured in the IPL, after which he was out of the entire tournament. Gaikwad suffered an elbow injury in the match against Rajasthan Royals last month, after which he was ruled out of the remaining matches of IPL. CSK has signed 17 -year -old Ayush in place of Gaikwad. He will be available for the team for the next CSK matches. Ayush’s journey has been full of struggles. He used to reach the Cricket Academy by covering a distance of 80 kilometers daily from home where he has learned the ABCD of cricket.
Right -handed batsman Ayush (Ayush Mhatre) plays for Mumbai in domestic cricket. He has played seven list A matches along with 9 first-class matches. Ayush has been added to Ayush at a base price of 30 lakhs. Mhatre recently opened domestic cricket for Mumbai and also gave trials with CSK at the beginning of this season. He has scored 504 runs in red-ball cricket at an average of 31.50, including a half-century and two centuries.

In List A Cricket, Ayush Mhatre has scored 458 runs in seven matches at an excellent average of 65.42, including a half -century and two centuries. He broke the record of his former partner Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Ayush Mhatre was part of the Mumbai team that won the Iranian Trophy last year.
