However, Rohit Sharma himself has made it clear that he will continue to play in this format. Former Australia captain Steve Waugh has given his opinion about this. He believes that if Rohit Sharma, who is facing criticisms, wants to continue to serve Indian cricket, he should not rest further.

This also includes taking a decision on captaincy. Amid the questions arising about Rohit’s future, Steve Waugh said that Rohit himself should decide the captaincy of India. India will start the 2025-27 World Test Championship (WTC) with the start of the series with England in June.
Steve Waugh told PTI, “It is completely dependent on them. He can solve this problem alone. They have to see myself in the mirror and say that I still want to become a captain or play for India? Do I keep a commitment? Am I giving full time and 100 percent for this? ”
Steve Waugh further said, “You cannot live in yourself or comfortable.”
Rohit will turn 38 on April 30. His performance in the last three Test series against Bangladesh, New Zealand and Australia was poor. He decided to get out of the Sydney Test citing poor form, in which India lost 1-3 earlier this year.
