Highlights
- In IPL 2025, 12 matches have been played so far.
- The first 2 places are foreign bowlers in the Purple Cap race.
- The top-5 also has 3 foreign batters in the race of Orange Cap.
New Delhi. Indian cricketers who won the T20 World Cup and Champions Trophy are thin in IPL 2025. In the current season of the Indian Premier League, veteran like Rohit Sharma is craving for runs. Purple Cap i.e. the first name in the list of bowlers taking the most wickets is also foreigner. Overall, the Orange Cap and Purple Cap race of IPL 2025 is dominated by foreign players, not Indians after the first 10 days.
In IPL 2025, 12 matches have been played so far. After these matches, when we look at the race of Orange Cap, 3 foreign names are seen in the top-5. West Indies’ Niklas Puran has scored the highest 145 runs in the league so far. Puran plays for Lucknow Supergiants. The second number in the race of Orange Cap is Sai Sudarshan (137) of Gujarat Titans. Sai is followed by the Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Travis Head (137) and Mitchell Marsh (124). At number five is Aniket Verma (117) who plays for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
It is interesting that there is not a single batter in the top-5 in the Orange Cap race, which has played for the Indian cricket team. Two unkapted batter Sai Sudarshan and Aniket Verma are saving India’s shame. Among the regular members of Team India, Suryakumar Yadav has scored 104, Sanju Samson 99, Shreyas Iyer 97, Virat Kohli 90 runs. Yashasvi Jaiswal (34), Rinku Singh (29), Rohit Sharma (21) and Rishabh Pant (15) have been completely neutralized in the league.

Noor Ahmed of Afghanistan at the top
The top-2 in the Purple Cap race stars Noor Ahmed of Afghanistan and Mitchell Starc of Australia. Noor Ahmed, who played for Chennai Super Kings, has taken 9 wickets and Mitchell Starc of Delhi Capitals has taken 8 wickets. This is followed by Khalil Ahmed (6), Shardul Thakur (6) and Kuldeep Yadav (5) of India in the next three places. Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Australian Pacer Josh Hazlewood (5) is sixth in the race and Sri Lankan spinner Vanindu Hasranga (5) of Rajasthan Royals is at number seven.
KKR at the last number in the point table
With the victory of Mumbai Indians in the IPL point table, now every team has at least 2 points in their account. Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals have won 2-2 matches so far. Royal Challengers Bangalore is first and Delhi Capitals at number two on the basis of better neturner. The defending champion Kolkata Knight Riders is also at number 10, or 10th due to the worst runrate (-1.428).
