New Zealand’s legendary batsman Kane Williamson praised Nitish Rana, calling his 36 -ball 81 -run innings ‘the best innings’ and also credited the winning of six runs over Chennai Super Kings to the fielding of Rajasthan Royals. Batting at number three, Nitish played an aggressive innings, scoring 182 runs for nine wickets and then stopped Super Kings for 176 runs for six wickets and registered the first win of the session.
Williamson, who played for Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans, said on ‘Geographstar’, “Nitish is a great player against Spin but he started his innings against fast bowling, made good use of speed. Perhaps due to the combination of the left hand, right hand, he came to bat at number three. This was a great innings of top level. ”
Williamson said, “Rajasthan Royals have many other talented batsmen, but Nitish was the match winner. In such a match where the scope of mistake on such a wicket was very low, I believe that the fielding of Rajasthan Royals gave him victory. I felt that Dhoni would finish the match by scoring 20 runs in one over- he has done this many times. But this was a difficult task because 40 runs were needed in the last two overs.
