New Delhi. The Board of Control for Cricket in India has rested the match on Eden Gardens on 6 April between Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants. The BCCI has now decided to hold this IPL match on April 8 due to Ram Navami on April 6. The match will be held in Kolkata itself, whereas earlier there was speculation that this match could be done in Guwahati.
The BCCI said in a release, ‘Kolkata Police had requested the Bengal Cricket Association (Cab) to change the program of this match as the festival will be huge deployment of police across the city. Officials had requested to take this match from 3.30 on April 8, which has been accepted. Now there will be two matches on April 8. KKR and LSG matches will be played in the afternoon while in the evening the match of Punjab Kings and Chennai Super Kings will be played in New Chandigarh.
In the IPL, only one match will be played on 6 April Sunday. In which Sunrisers Hyderabad will face Gujarat Titans at their home ground. The match will be played at 7:30 pm (Match Number 20), as was already decided. There will be two matches on Tuesday, April 8. In the first match, there will be a match between KKR and LSG in Kolkata in the afternoon, and in the evening Punjab Kings will face Chennai Super Kings in their home ground New Chandigarh (Match No. 22), as already decided.
