New Delhi: After the poor performance in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and the dressing room talks continuously, the BCCI has carried a whip on the Indian coaching staff. Assistant Abhishek Nair of Head Coach Gautam Gambhir, fielding coach T. Dilip and trainer Soham Desai have been fired. No official announcement has been made by the Indian Cricket Board so far.
According to the report published in Dainik Jagran, the BCCI was in a mood for the BCCI action since the 1-3 embarrassing defeat in the Gavaskar Trophy, which ended in Australia earlier this year. This is the reason that despite winning the Champions Trophy after 12 years, Abhishek Nair, appointed just eight months ago, was discharged. He is considered special of Gautam Gambhir. Apart from this, T. Dilip could not save his place. Since the arrival of Dilip, there was a great enhancement in the fielding of the Indian team. After every match, the Best Catching Award also started during his tenure.
If sources are to be believed, the BCCI is not in the mood to appoint someone else in place of these people. Sitanshu Kotak is already associated with the Indian team as a batting coach. Fielding coach T. Dilip’s work can be done by Assistant Coach Ryan Ten Dashkot while Adrian Ltd is expected to instead of trainer Soham Desai.
