In the first match of the season, Ashutosh Sharma won the innings of 66 runs from 31 balls in the first match of the season. He hit five fours and five sixes. Delhi’s 9th wicket fell and Ashutosh was at the crease. Delhi needed 18 runs off 9 balls to win, but Ashutosh gave the team victory with three balls remaining.
Ashutosh Sharma is from Ratlam in Madhya Pradesh. On Bhaskar’s question about his journey from here to IPL, he said that he hit three fours in his first club match in Ratlam, then I felt that I could play cricket. I moved to Indore from Ratlam at the age of 11-12 for cricket and started living with friend Aman. CCI started playing there with the club. After that my selection took place at Madhya Pradesh Residential Cricket Academy. There was a system from practice to education for those living there.
Ashutosh gave information about his journey in Jio Star-Delhi Capitals Press Room on Friday.

Practiced in the academy from the middle He told- There was practice at Holkar Stadium. We lived in Holkar Stadium. Stayed there for 5 years. Coach Amay Khurasia performed practice there. He did a lot of hard work.
They used to practice the middle place (the width of the bat and reduced the bat from both sides) at the place of the bat. In such a situation, it was very easy to bat in the match. I played Under-15, Under-17, Under-19 and Under-23 from Madhya Pradesh. Then played in Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Vijay Hazare also played from there.
In 2020, I left Madhya Pradesh and joined the railway. Then played under-25 from the railway. Then Vijay Hazare and Mushtaq Ali played in the Trophy. Then last year joined Punjab. Even the journey was very long, but I am happy.
Dhawan helped me become mentally strong Ashutosh said in response to another question- Kevin Pietersen and Shikhar Dhawan have played an important role in my career. Dhawan always asks me to be humble. He did not tell me much about technology, but his lesson on life, mental fitness and game changed my life a lot. I have worked on mentality, not technique, inspired by him.
At the same time, spending time with Mentor Kevin Pietersen of Delhi is great and whenever they share something during the net session, it really feels good because he has been such a great player and played a lot. If they share their experience with us, it is always good. It is really good to ask them any question.

Dhoni also got tips about batting Ashutosh said that I met Dhoni in the match against Punjab Kings and Chennai in the IPL last year. I talked to him about the presence of the match. I asked him about batting and his thinking. He told me many things. Which I do not want to tell here.
Bat more on the net against spinners Ashutosh said that I play more against spinners on the net. I like to bat for a long time. So whenever I get a chance on the net, I like to bat for a long time. I like to practice separately against them to face spinners. My effort in the match against Lucknow was to hit every ball coming to me.
