New Delhi. Vaibhav Suryavanshi has created history in the IPL. Vaibhav Suryavanshi of Bihar has become the youngest cricketer to play the first match in the Indian Premier League. Rajasthan Royals have fielded him against Lucknow Supergiants. Rajasthan Royals bought Vaibhav Suryavanshi for Rs 1.10 crore in IPL auction. Vaibhav Suryavanshi will play his first match in the IPL at the age of 14 years 23 days.
In IPL 2025, Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Supergiants were held on Saturday. Lucknow captain Rishabh Pant won the toss. He decided to bat first. The Rajasthan Royals team is playing in this match without its regular captain Sanju Samson. They are not playing in this match due to injury. Ryan Parag is captaining the team in his place. Ryan Parag told that Vaibhav is making Suryavanshi debut with this match.
Ryan Parag said that Vaibhav is going to become the youngest debutant. Vaibhav Suryavanshi has got the benefit of captain Sanju Samson not playing. Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s name is not included in the playing eleven of Rajasthan Royals. It is decided that he will be given a chance as an impact player.

Before Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the record effort to make the youngest debut in the IPL was in the name of Ray Burman. When Prayas Ray Burman played his first match in the IPL in 2019, he was 16 years and 157 days old. The attempt made this record playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore and in front of him was the team of Sunrisers Hyderabad.
