Royal Challengers Bangalore batsman Virat Kohli has spoken about his cricket career struggles and ups and downs in the show ’18 Calling 18 ‘show on Jio Hotstar. In this, he has also shared his experience.

Was scared on IPL debut Kohli said while talking about his IPL debut season, ‘When I first played in IPL, I was completely scared. Apart from Zaheer Khan and Yuvraj Singh, I had not met anyone before. I knew both of them from the days of the North Zone. It was no less than a dream to share the dressing room with veterans like Anil Kumble and Rahul Dravid for a new waist like me. But there was also pressure with that excitement. I knew that my game is not yet of that level, and I had to prove myself. My first season did not go well due to pressure. But, that experience was fantastic. ‘

Did not get a chance to play in the top order initially Recalling his early years with Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kohli said, In my first three years with RCB, I did not get much chance to bat in the top order. I was usually sent to a lower order. So I could not perform anything special in the IPL initially. However, the 2009 season was a little better for me. That year the pitches were favorable to my game, the ball was coming well on the bat, and I could play my shots more freedom. This was an interesting phase of my career. From 2010, I started performing well and by 2011 I started batting at regular number three.

IPL enhances my T20 game Kohli further said, ‘The IPL challenges you in a very different way. It is not like a small beileral series, it lasts for several weeks, and your position changes in the points table. The points table brings different types of pressure from the constantly changing positions. When you are at the top, there is pressure to maintain that edge. If you are at the lower rungs, you need additional motivation to return. And if you are somewhere in the middle, where you need to win 3 out of 5 matches, a single defeat can suddenly put a lot of pressure. This nature of this tournament helps you move mentally and competitively. IPL has made me a thick to continuously improve and develop my T20 game.

Kohli’s name is the most IPL run Kohli is the highest run -scorer in IPL. He has 8168 runs in 256 matches. They have been playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) since the beginning of the league in 2008. His names are 8 IPL centuries. Apart from this, he has scored 57 half -centuries.
