There was an allegation of breaking the IPL rules in the match played between Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
In order to break the IPL rules on Gujarat Titans bowler Ishant Sharma, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has given a 25 percent fine of the match fee as well as a demerit point.
Ishant Sharma took this action during the match between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Ishant Sharma has been found guilty under Article 2.2. He has accepted his crime. The IPL statement said- Ishant Sharma accepted the crime of Level 1 under Article 2.2 and accepted the decision of the match referee.
What is BCCI Article 2.2 BCCI’s rule Article 2.2 includes any action out of general cricket activities, such as killing or kicking wickets and any action that deliberately, carelessly or inadvertently (even though accidental in any case) advertisement boards, boundary fences, dressing rooms doors, dressing room doors, mirrors, windows and anything else. For example, this crime can occur when a player rotates his bat vigorously in disappointment and damages the advertising board.
Bowling with an economy of 13 Ishant Sharma did not get any success in this match. He conceded 53 runs in 4 overs from an economy of 13.25. His over hit 9 fours and 1 six.
