New Delhi. Tilak Verma was retired out after performing poorly against Lucknow. On this, Mahela Jayawardene, head coach of Mumbai Indians and 25957 runs in international cricket run, said that it was not good to retired Tilak Verma during the IPL match against Lucknow Super Giants but then he was not able to bat aggressively according to the circumstances and hence it was strategically.
Jayawardene told reporters after the match, “Such things happen in cricket and it was not good to do it out but I had to do so. It was a strategic decision at that time. “I think Tilak was batting well in the beginning.” We hoped that he would score at a fast pace but he could not do so.

Jayawardene said, “I think Tilak was batting well in the beginning. We hoped that he would score at a fast pace but he could not do so. I waited for the last few overs in the hope that Tilak would score fast as he spent some time at the crease. But he was struggling to score runs and then I felt that it would be right to remove a new player. ”
Tilak has scored two centuries in T20 International cricket for India. When he was playing 25 runs off 23 balls, the Mumbai team got him retired out and he was replaced by Mitchell Santner, whose strike rate is 106. However, this strategy of Mumbai did not prove to be effective and lost by 12 runs.
