After this defeat, Rishabh Pant, the newly born captain of Lucknow and the most expensive player in the history of the tournament, admitted that his team did not score enough runs.
Rishabh Pant said that his team scored 20 to 25 runs. Pant said after the match, ‘This was not enough, we were left behind 20-25 runs. This is a part of the game – our first domestic match was still assessing the situation.
Rishabh Pant said, ‘Surely. When you lose the initial wicket, it is always difficult (making a big score). You cannot control everything, but every player was trying to take the match forward.
He said, ‘Our idea was to get a slow wicket because we felt that this is a domestic match, the ball will stop a little. We did not perform quite well. We will learn from this and move forward. There are definitely many positive things. At the beginning of the tournament, the team still has to find a lot of things and hope that it will be good for us.
