ICC is going to bring a new rule in Test cricket.
New Delhi. ICC is going to make a big change in ICC Test cricket. Under the new rule, the team who fielding in the Test match will have to start a new over within 60 seconds. The committee headed by Sourav Ganguly is trying to get rid of the problem of slow over rate in Test matches. The ICC wants 90 overs game to be completed every day in Test matches. Currently this rule is only in limited over cricket which includes ODI and T20.
Under this rule, a vomiting watch is shown on the ground in limited over cricket. It counts 60 to zero vomiting. Third umpire controls this watch. If the fielding team is not ready to throw the first ball of the new over within 60 seconds according to the rule, then it is given warning twice. After this, if a team violates the rule, then 5 runs are given as penalty to the batting team. The new batsman is exempted from this rule in situations like arrival at the crease, drinks break or player injury.
Under 19 World Cup can be played in T20 format
The committee headed by Sourav Ganguly has recommended that there should be a maximum difference of 60 seconds between two overs in Test matches. Use of in-game clockes can be started to get this rule seriously followed. Apart from this, a proposal has also been made to get the Under-19 World Cup in T20 format. Right now this tournament is held only in ODI format. However, some members of the institution believe that the Under 19 World Cup should be allowed to remain in the 50 -over format. Even if there is any change, it will be applicable since 2028.
Rules can come to use a ball after 25 overs in ODIs
It has been recommended by the ICC Cricket Committee to finish the use of 2 balls in ODIs. Till 25 overs, both the balls have been used to be used, but after that the remaining overs of the innings should be thrown from just one ball. In this, the fielding team will be given the option to throw the rest of the overs of the match.
