New Delhi. Abhishek Nayar, assistant coach of the Indian cricket team and the associate staff has been removed from his post. Now after 9 months, BCCI (BCCI) has taken this big decision in his place. A source has said that it was already being said in the board that there is no point in keeping so many in the Mains team.
Sources told IANS on Thursday, “Some people in the board were saying what it means to keep so many people in the support staff of Mains team, especially after the defeat in the Test series in Australia. He believed that due to being so many coaches, the support staff of Mains team seems to be crowded. Therefore, it cannot be called dismissal.”
The source further said, “This is only about assessing the support staff. Also people like Nair, Dileep and Desai cannot be made a good or bad coach. Because they still have a lot to give Indian cricket and shape it to its future players.” Sources also told IANS that the responsibility of Nair and Dileep will be fully played by batting coach Sitanshu Kotak and Assistant Coach Ryan Ten Doeshet.
Abhishek Nair was overseeing the KKR Academy and was also working as an assistant coach with the franchise. In addition, he is also working personally with many players. Soon after the Champions Trophy, KL Rahul sought Nair’s help to prepare for IPL and contributed his success in this season.
