New Delhi. Prithvi Shaw, sitting with the dream of playing again in the Indian Premier League, does not seem to be over. Chennai Super Kings captain Rituraj Gaikwad was injured and his name was being discussed as a replacement. It is now reported that Chennai is ready to take 17 -year -old Mumbai batsman Ayush Mhatre. Former Indian cricketer K Srikanth recommended the name of Prithvi to the team of Chennai.

On Sunday (April 14), a report by Cricbuzz shocked the expectations of Prithvi Shaw’s return to the IPL. It is being told that the team is considering bringing Ayush, who made his first class debut for Mumbai in the Iranian Cup match this year. A source close to the CSK management told Cricbuj, “He will join the team in Mumbai in a few days.”

According to the report, the five -time Champions took this decision late on Saturday night. Cricbaz reported, “He has been asked to join the franchise immediately, but it will take him a few days to join the MS Dhoni -led team. Mhatre, whose base price was 30 lakh rupees, remained unhappy in the auction.”

According to the report, “CSK approval came when the franchise called Mhatre for a trial in Chennai which included Urvil Patel of Gujarat and Salman Nazar of Uttar Pradesh. Prithvi Shaw was also considered but the team chose Mhatre as an alternative to Gaikwad,”
Mhatre has played nine first and seven list a matches since domestic debut last year. He has scored two centuries in red-ball cricket and two centuries in 50 overs format. In his last List A match, Mhatre scored 148 against Saurashtra and also took a wicket for 33 runs in seven overs.
