Gujarat Titans defeated Mumbai Indians by 36 runs and opened their account in the IPL point table. Mumbai Indians slipped to number nine due to second consecutive defeat. Troubled by this defeat, captain Hardik Pandya admitted that his team made a lot of mistakes and did not show professional approach.
Chasing the 197 -run target of Gujarat Titans, the team of Mumbai Indians could score 160 runs for 6 wickets in front of the sharp bowling of the famous Krishna (2/18) and Mohammad Siraj (2/34). Hardik Pandya said after the match, ‘We had some mistakes. We were not professional in the field, due to which we probably lost 20-25 runs. He did the right job in the Powerplay (opener of Gujarat Titans). He did not play high risk shots but scored a lot of runs and this led to us on the backfoot.
