Puthur, who started his IPL career from the match against Chennai Super Kings, did not get a place in the playing XI in the match against Gujarat Titans. Regular captain Hardik Pandya returned after a match ban, but why Puthur was kept out of the playing XI, no one can understand this. Mumbai has got a new match winner in the form of Puthur, but it was a shocking decision from captain Hardik Pandya to exclude this bowler.
In place of 24 -year -old Vignesh Puthur (Vignesh Puthur), Mumbai Indians gave Afghanistan spinner Mujib ur Rehman a chance against Gujarat Titans at the playing XI. Vignesh Puthur hails from Kerala. He showed his bowling with 13 wickets in 16 matches in Kerala Cricket League 2024. His best bowling is 3 wickets for 38 runs. Puthaur’s determination has recognized him in tournaments like Tamil Nadu Premier League and TCM, KCA Club Championships. Mumbai Indians scouted Vignesh during her domestic performance and bought for 30 lakhs in the IPL 2025 auction.
Earlier this year, Puthur was a net bowler for Mi Cape Town in SA20. Where he further enhanced his skills with Rashid Khan. Vignesh dismissed Deepak Hooda, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shivam Dubey in the debut match.
