New Delhi: Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya has been fined Rs 12 lakh for the slow over speed of his team in the Indian Premier League match against Gujarat Titans. Five -time champions Mumbai Indians lost by 36 runs against Titans at Narendra Modi Stadium on Saturday.
The IPL said in a statement on Sunday, “Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya has been fined by his team to maintain a slow over speed during the ninth match of Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 against Gujarat Titans at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.”

According to the statement, ‘This was the first offense of the session of his team under Rule 2.2 related to crimes related to the minimum over speed of IPL code of conduct, so Pandya was fined Rs 12 lakh’.
Gujarat, batting first, scored 196 runs on the black clay pitch of Ahmedabad. Mumbai Indians had to struggle chasing the target and eventually the team could score 160 runs for six wickets. Gujarat registered its first win in the current season. This was the second consecutive defeat of Mumbai Indians and the team has not yet opened the account account.
Hardik Pandya was unhappy after the defeat in the second consecutive match. Pandya questioned the team’s professionalism. We were not very professional in fielding.
