New Delhi. As soon as the command of Chennai Super Kings in the hands of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the results have started changing. The team, which is suffering defeat over the continuous defeat, registered a second win defeating Lucknow Super Giants in the tournament. In the match, MS Dhoni played a brilliant innings of 26 runs in 11 balls. Dhoni had stepped on the field in the 15th over and along with Shivam Dubey brought the team to victory. The CSK captain performed well and hit four fours and a six in his innings.
Due to the poor start of Chennai Super Kings, Dhoni’s batting position and his strategy were being questioned but he silenced his critics. Due to the innings played against Lucknow, he was elected Player of the Match (POTM). 43 -year -old Dhoni won this award for the first time since 2019 and became the oldest player in the history of the league to win the award.
Question on Rishabh Pant’s captaincy
While Dhoni’s innings gave a chance to celebrate, questions were raised on Rishabh Pant’s captaincy. Fans were angry on social media because LSG did not bowl with a spinner after Dhoni came to the field. After the arrival of CSK captain, Avesh Khan threw three overs while Shardul was given the remaining two overs. Shardul conceded 56 runs in four overs while Avesh scored 32 runs in 3.3 overs. In the last few years, Dhoni has done well against fast bowling but his game against spin has been weak. Captain Pant did not bowl Ravi Bishnoi while he also took two wickets. One of his overs remained left and took two wickets for 18 runs in three overs.
