Former Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal is recovering after a heart attack and is overwhelmed by the love of fans. He called it a new life. Tamim has played 70 Tests and 243 ODIs.

New Delhi. Former Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal has been discharged from the hospital after four days. After returning home from the hospital, he said that he is ‘extremely overwhelmed’ with immense love from fans in the last few days. The former cricketer called it a ‘new life’ because after a heart attack, he has to go a long way to recover.
36 -year -old Tamim Iqbal had a severe chest pain while fielding during the Dhaka Premier Division match on Monday. Tamim was rushed to the hospital where he had to undergo an emergency operation due to obstruction in an artery of his heart. Four days later, after being discharged from the hospital, Tamim said in a message posted in Bangla on his Facebook page, “I am now at home due to the blessings of all of you.” He said, ‘In these four days, I have known the environment around me. I have got a new life. There is only love and gratitude in this feeling. I have found your love in my entire career. But now I have felt it even more. I am overwhelmed.
Tamim Dhaka was leading the Mohammedan Sporting Club in the match against Shinepukur Cricket Club in the Premier Division Cricket League when he felt restless. Expressing gratitude to doctors, hospitals, assistant staff and individuals, especially trainer Yakub Chaudhary Dalim, Tamim said, “I don’t know really how to thank our trainer Yakub Chaudhary Dalim Bhai.”
He said, ‘I came to know later. Doctors said that if Dalim Bhai had not given CPR properly at that time, I would not have survived. The way to recover completely is still long. Keep me and my family in your prayers. Everyone’s life should be beautiful and peaceful. love for all.’
Tamim Iqbal announced his retirement from international cricket for the second time in January this year. Earlier in July 2023, he made a similar announcement during a press conference but changed his decision within 24 hours after the intervention of the then Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina. Tamim, who last played for the national team in 2023, played 70 Tests and 243 ODIs for Bangladesh in which he scored 5,134 and 8,357 runs respectively. He has also scored 1,758 runs in 78 T20 International matches.
